The Kent State -OFSA Travel Elite Soccer Camp is designed for the current Travel and Premier soccer players between 6 – 14 years of age. Featuring NCAA coaches and players who will be facilitating, this camp has been created to offer an experience with NCAA coaches who offer a unique, collegiate-style experience that will benefit any travel or club player, all while doing so in small groups with a 14-1 maximum ratio that allows for more “one-on-one” interaction with NCAA coaches and players.
The Kent State-OFSA Travel-Elite Soccer Camp curriculum meets (3) objectives:
* DEVELOPMENT * TECHNIQUE * PROGRESS *
The program includes varied, imaginative exercises. Each of these exercises targets one of four facets of play. The camp will expand the player’s vision on the field, while teaching the player the proper reactions to what he or she sees; improve the player’s technical ability to put their decision into action; and increase the pace at which the player puts all three together:

Facilitating the camp will be Kent State Head Soccer Coach Rob Marinaro, who has been with Kent State’s soccer program since its inception in 1997. Marinaro spent five seasons (1993-97) playing with various teams within the NPSL, including the Cleveland Crunch, Harrisburg Heat, Buffalo Blizzard and Chicago Power. He was selected to the NPSL All-Rookie Team in 1994. One of the longest-tenured coaches in the Mid-American Conference, Marinaro enters his 13th season as Kent State’s head coach in 2013 and his 17th season overall. Joining Coach Marinaro will be Asst. Coach Pat Sweeney, a veteran among the club soccer circles throughout Ohio, boasting over 20 years of Olympic development and club soccer coaching experience, as well as, Asst. Coach Abby Richter, who will be serving as the head coach for the United States Women’s Open team and third staff appearance at the 19th Maccabiah Games in Israel.
