OFSA Scholarship

2009 Scholarship Application Deadline is Passed.  Thanks to those who submitted applications.  Winners will be announced at the Olmsted Falls High School Awards Ceremony.

The Olmsted Falls Soccer Association (OFSA) will award two $500 scholarships. Scholarship will be granted to one male and one female graduating high school senior student who will attend college. A one-time scholarship of $500.00 will be awarded to each.  All applicants must be well-rounded students who are committed to working hard in their academic pursuits while also making good decisions in their everyday lives. Although participation in soccer at the college level is not a prerequisite for this scholarship, playing collegiate soccer will be looked upon as a means of determining selection as will post high school coaching or officiating.

ELIGIBILITY: 

 To qualify for the OFSA Scholarship the applicant must:
  • Have completed the Local Scholarship Application — available in the Olmsted Falls High School guidance office.
  • Be a graduating Olmsted Falls High School senior planning to attend a school of higher education.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or better on 4.0 scale in high school (to be verified by the applicant’s school)
  • Have actively participated in OFSA programs as a field maintenance worker, in-house or travel player, coach, or referee.
  • In the opinion of the scholarship committee, respect and support the sport of soccer and the ideals of Olmsted Falls Soccer Association.
  • Be a role model for younger children in OFSA programs.
  • Exhibit commitment to the sport of soccer, OFSA, and its members.

REQUIREMENTS / CRITERIA

 To apply please submit all of the following:
  1. Olmsted Falls Soccer Association 2009 Scholarship Application Form
  2. A word-processed personal statement (300 words or less) describing your involvement and experience with OFSA and/or how OFSA programs have benefited you.
  3. A copy of your official high school transcript.
  4. A letter of recommendation from a non-family member (this letter need not be specific to this award
  5. Proof of acceptance into an accredited college or university

The Olmsted Falls Soccer Association Scholarship Committee will review all applicants.  Award recipients will be notified by telephone and U.S. mail by a representative of the OFSA board. All decisions are final.  Winners will allow the OFSA to publish their photograph and names.
